Woollahra is an affluent residential and commercial suburb located five kilometres east of Sydney`s central business district, in the Eastern Suburbs. History
The suburb derives its name from the Aboriginal word Woollahra meaning meeting ground, camp or a sitting down place. Woollahra House, an impressive and stately mansion, was built in the area in 1856, but sadly, has since been demolished. A number of homes in the suburb are heritage listed, two of which include Rosemont and Waimea House.
