Location
History
Formerly a part of the suburbs of Pagewood and Hillsdale, Eastgardens is named after Westfield Eastgardens - the large shopping centre that acts as the focal point of the suburb, and which was opened in 1987. The site of Westfield Eastgardens was formerly a bus depot, as well as a General Motors Holden car manufacturing plant. After 20 years of trade, David Jones closed its Westfield Eastgardens store in 2007, with Myer taking over its allocated floor space and opening in 2008.
