Wolli Creek is a small riverside suburb located 10 kilometres south of Sydney's central business district, in southern Sydney. Formerly an industrial area, the suburb was redeveloped in the last decade into a high-density residential and commercial district. Wolli Creek sits on its namesake creek and the Cooks River and is found between Earlwood to the north and Arncliffe to the south. The Princes Highway crosses the Cooks River and connects the suburb to neighbouring Tempe.
Location
History
The traditional owners of the land around the Wolli Creek Valley are the Bidjigal people of the Eora Nation. The suburb is named after the waterway found at its north. Tempe House, a handsome Georgian home, was built in the area that makes up the suburb today in 1836. The stately home still stands today and is located next to Discovery Point Park. Up until the 1990s, the suburb was an industrial district located in the suburb of Arncliffe. The area was redeveloped into a residential and commercial precinct and Wolli Creek railway station opened in 2000. Wolli Creek officially became a suburb in its own right in 2002.

The suburb's two main green spaces are Cahill Park and Discovery Point Park. Both front the Cooks River and are found in Wolli Creek's northeast. Wolli Creek Station is located in the suburb's north.
