Sans Souci is a waterside residential suburb located 17 kilometres south of Sydney's central business district, in the local government areas of the Bayside Council and the Georges River Council. Sans Souci is a French term translating to "with care"; the suburb was named after a grand house of the same name built on Rocky Point Road in 1853. The house was named after Sanssouci in Germany, the summer palace of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia.
