Clovelly is a quaint beachside suburb located eight kilometres southeast of Sydney's central business district, in the Eastern Suburbs. An affluent residential area, Clovelly is best known for its small, sheltered beach and its long namesake bay, which features a distinct concrete foreshore. The suburb is found between Bronte to the north and Coogee to the south. With its unique promenade and relatively tranquil bay, Clovelly is a popular destination for sunbathers and swimmers alike.

History
Formerly known as "Little Coogee", the suburb was renamed in 1913 after a local estate, which had been originally named after the village of Clovelly on the Devon coast in England. Clovelly Surf Life Saving Club was established in 1907 and the suburb's concrete foreshore was constructed during the Great Depression as part of a scheme to keep local men employed, and to also ease access to the ocean for bathers. Locals and residents today often affectionately refer to Clovelly as "Cloey".

Clovelly Beach and Clovelly Bay are found in the centre of the suburb, to the southwest of Shark Point. The Clovelly Hotel and Clovelly Surf Life Saving Club are west and south adjacent to Clovelly Beach respectively. The suburb's northern headland is largely open green space, and is also home to the spectacularly positioned Clovelly Bowling & Recreation Club.
